About Office of Technology Licensing

The Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) was established to manage and license the intellectual property created by Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and, in some cases, students. OTL plays a critical role in connecting with innovators and industry partners to catalyze commercialization of Georgia Tech technologies, delivering real-world impact both locally and globally.

In addition, OTL advances Georgia Tech’s innovations from the lab to the marketplace to promote economic development and foster social benefit. Our office builds internal and external relationships to

  • Connect others with Georgia Tech’s groundbreaking research to advance commercialization efforts
  • Establish licensing agreements to bring Georgia Tech innovations into the marketplace
  • Define Georgia Tech's policies and processes

Our Mission

OTL serves Georgia Tech’s mission to champion innovation and cultivate an inclusive environment for all entrepreneurs by providing the resources and support to demystify the commercialization process.
